Those of you parents out there that have little boys know what I’m talking about. It’s as if they were born with cars, trains and planes in their little hands. Or learned how to shoot guns in the womb. Or that somehow hearing their Dads go on and on about sports some how rubbed off on them and they enjoy watching it, even at the ripe age of 3. And please don’t even get me started on them thinking farts or poop are funny. It’s in the DNA I tell you. D – freaking – NA.

Since we’re nearing the time when we’ll find out what this little #3 will be (yes, we are finding out!), the idea of 3 little boys sounds quite challenging! All that testosterone in this house may drive me mad. I go nuts when they start screaming at each other because they both want the same car! A little girl would help mix things up a bit – playing with dolls, cooking, or dressing up. I wouldn’t have to really worry about the boys wanting to take that stuff away from her.

Then again…the idea of having 3 boys who will always love their Momma….now that sounds nice. Plus, we don’t have to pay for any weddings if it’s another boy! Surely that’s a HUGE plus – right?? Back before I had kids, or let alone was even married, I used to say that I wanted 3 little boys and 1 little girl. Well…silly me….now that I actually HAVE children, I’m pretty certain I don’t want 4. 3 will be just dandy – and 2 little boys and 1 little girl sounds nice. Unfortunately my odds are against me. I have been told that once you have 2 of one gender there is a 70% chance the 3rd will be the same gender. So I say – although those are the odds, I truly believe that the Lord will place whatever gender he wants us to have in our little family.

If it’s another little guy – he’ll be a joy & have 2 big brothers to fight and rough house with.
If a little girl joins our family – she’ll be precious as can be & my boys will get to be fantastic, big, protective brothers.

Today I had my check-up and I’m measuring at 19wks (I’m currently 17wks), baby’s heart rate was 149 (the boys were both at 156), and I have only gained 4lbs since my 8 wk appt! Tomorrow I call up to the hospital to schedule the ultrasound! I’m so excited!!!
What are your predictions for this little one??

You sound just like me right now! I have 2 boys 2.5 and 9 mo and now we are expecting #3. I always said I want 2 boys and a girl, but you are right the Lord knows best. It sure would be nice to have a tea party instead of a gun fight every now and then!
