Let me paint a picture for you…
For the last month or so we’ve been living our lives, as a married couple, doing married couple things.
I make dinner & clean house, he goes to work.
We watch our favorite shows together, talk about our days as I cook dinner, play with the kids after dinner, go to bed
& repeat.
Things just got ordinary.
These past few days I’ve been having this overwhelming feeling of gratitude towards my husband.
You know, having that feeling like he’s my whole world & I can’t imagine ever going through life without him & I just want to shower him with all the love and attention that I can.
Yeah. Complete adoration of my husband.
So, I decided to be extraordinary.
{i did not mean to quote grey’s anatomy, but apparently it’s instilled in my mind even during the off-season}
Yesterday, while the kids were playing I was listening to one of my hub’s playlists on itunes and I got this overwhelming feeling that I needed to write my hubby a little love letter.
When we were dating, I’d do this sort of thing ALL the time.
I’d go by his work, slip a note on his windshield and wait like a little school girl for a text saying he got it.
He loved it & I loved doing it.
So, I busted out the ol’ paper & pen and started writing.
I wrote my man a love letter, front-to-back, sealed it in an envelope and loaded the kids & pup in the van.
Hubby works about 20 minutes away & when we got there I decided to give him a ring to see if he could step out and say hello.
Luckily he had a minute so we all got to see him for about 5 minutes.
Hubby was so happy about our surprise visit & of course the kiddos went ballistic!
Once he went back inside his building, I pulled on over to his car, slipped the envelope on the windshield and off I went.
When he pulled up to the house after work, I was smiles from ear to ear.
I totally played it cool though, like I didn’t know what I had secretly done.
My man, walked over to me & kissed me – thanked me – and told me that what I had done was the sweetest thing I had ever done for him.
Ladies.
Write your hubby a love letter.
Trust me.
He will love you for it & you will doing it.
What was the last thing you did for your hubby/BF that made your relationship extraordinary?
xoxo

I came across an “I love you because” memo frame on a another website and you use dry erase markers to write love notes to your special someone. I decided to make one and “test” it. My husband and I love it! Waking up in the morning is never been sweeter when hubby leaves me with sweet notes and both of us look forward to read our responses to each other.:) I highly recommend it! My husband told me that it encourages him to love me more and more unconditionally! I hope I encourage wives out there to give it a try.:) We are getting ready to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary next month! I just can’t imagine life without him!
Aww so sweet!
I do things like that now, even after 12 yrs of marriage.
{huge hugs}

So sweet!! I love doing little things like this for Josh. He always gets excited about being reminded just how much I love him. I think it’s part of pregnancy to feel that overwhelming sense of adoration for your husband. I was feeling that way last night when we were going to sleep. Appreciation for all that he does to help out and indescribable love for being blessed with his children.

Love this. What a great idea. I feel like I don’t communicate my appreciation for my hubby enough.
I love this! You have inspired me to do this for my hubby. His work is a bit of a drive (with traffic ~35-45 mins) but the kids (5yo & 4yo) and I will be down that way on Friday – so it’s going to be my secret plan
Although, once he gets to work he then drives all over (he is a furniture repair tech for the largest furniture store in our area) so we won’t get to see him, oh-and I just remembered that his car is not in an area accessible to me…hmm…I’ll have to leave it with one of the people inside that he’ll see when he gets back at the end of the day. Complicated, but he’ll love it
We’re in the process of selling our house right now, and it has been crazy busy and stressful, this will be a fun way to put a smile on his face

Awwww, that’s so sweet
I get those feelings too and I never know what to do. I’ll dig up my old sentimental archives and do something for hubby soon.
That’s such a sweet thing to do for your husband!
I must remember to keep doing that for my boyfriend when we’re an old married couple. Old, old, old in walkers and can hardly hear each other. That’ll probably be the moment when I remember {or maybe not} to write some love letters again. At the moment we’re in a long distance relationship and mainly communicate through emails so whenever he says he’s leaving I tend to write a long sappy email for him to read whenever he signs in again. He gives me a lot of grief for it but I know he likes it. It takes a while but he admits that he likes reading them so it makes it all worth while

Just found you via another blog. Such a sweet idea. It’s so easy to think about these feelings, but how often do we act on it like you did. Think I’ll go write a little note right now. Thanks!
