I can’t tell you how many times a week I get asked the question, “So, are you ready for the twins?”
My response is always the same, “I don’t think you can ever be truly ‘ready’ for twins – but we have what we need for the beginning!”
And you know, even though after I say it I think to myself, ‘My Michelle, that was pretty rude!’ I still seem to say it every time. ha ha.
The truth is, we are ready in the sense that we have all the “big” items: cribs, car seats, pack’n'plays, diapers for about 5/6wks, bottles, breast pump, clothes, blankets…

But as far as being organized?! Yeah right. If you were to look at their cribs you’d find they are filled with the tissue poms that have yet to be hung, Livia’s crib is filled with the boy’s old clothes that I’m trying to sell (but I’m thinking I’ll just give them to charity). The rocking chair is still in Abigail’s room ready to be taken apart and then put in our room so I can be cozy nursing at night. I still need frames for the pictures I have for their room. I only have 1 set of sheets for each crib. I don’t have their mesh crib bumpers, car seat mats, crib skirts, extra nipples, extra pacis, extra sheets and I don’t really have any ‘baby’ toys bc we got rid of them all when the boys grew out of them.
My house is “clean” in a sense….I vacuum on a daily basis because I have a black lab and she sheds as if it were 100 degrees every day, my kitchen is cleaned every day because the thought of a dirty kitchen grosses me out & I always have laundry done but not put away. My bathroom is typically wiped up but definitely hasn’t been scrubbed in about 2 wks, I haven’t touched a duster in about that time & my windows need a good wipe down.

I have a massive “to-do” list that I’ve finally started to tackle. I have marked a few things off but have MANY more to go. One thing I’m most excited about is Lilly getting groomed – I am smiling as I write it – the idea of less hair in the house makes me SO very pleased.
My design work isn’t complete but I’m so excited about 2 of my clients almost being ready to launch their stuff. That means only 2 more until the design queue is officially closed until further notice. I love my work, but I feel like I’m cutting it close with these girls arriving right around the corner! eek!
In the end, things will either get done or they won’t. I really can’t worry about it too much or else I’ll put myself into early labor…and we don’t want that
. For now, I’ll just take it day by day & pray that I don’t freak out after the girls arrive. (i tend to do that…)
Thanks for listening….
xoxo

Agh, I’m so excited for you! I keep thinking about you during the days now and find myself wondering, “I wonder if she’s had those baby girlies yet!” every time I see a set of twins walking around town…you are going to be a GREAT mama to those four children (eep – four!), and we’ll all be here to lend an ear when you need to vent or moan about the lack of sleep and stress and what-not! x

Um. Yep. What you said. We have the biggest things (bottles, a box of diapers, pack and play, crib and clothes) but we are lacking in many, MANY things and my to-do list (as you know) is way longer than I want it to be at this point. Nonetheless, I do what I can, when I can and leave the rest when I can’t.
